Two Months

Exactly two months ago, we culled the ranks of our regular kids and pulled 5 potential volunteers. Their tasks: to help run the shop, keep it clean, return the tools to their proper places, and take responsibility for their time at KVIBE, that is, if they had a legitimate reason why they couldn't make it to "work," they'd have to call us and let us know. It started off slowly, but two exceptional volunteers made it through 2 months. In exchange for two months of volunteer work, they would receive premium BMX bikes and parts.

pose with their new bicycles! The top is a Matt Hoffman bike; the next is a Specialized. There were others on hand to witness the completion of their two months:

David, who was busy aligning his new handlebars,

Ali, who was cursing at his wheel,

A very regal-looking Remo,

Sonny,

and Michelle's feet.

We leave you with this pic which in my mind is what KVIBE is all about:

L to R: Jared, Auggie, Ryden.

Kurry Gnows Bicycles

Kurry's bike rack technique

Fellow cyclist and local celebrity Kurryballs demonstrates her bike rack riding prowess. Kurry, who is still relatively new to this fantastic activity, has been a vehement supporter of bicycle racks and pedestrian issues, and is an active advocate for educating drivers on road etiquette and how to coexist with cyclists, should they encounter them near a bicycle rack. We thank Kurry for her continued support of the cycling rack community, and we are completely thrilled that she loves riding her bike rack so much.

Notorious

Photos by Ryan Lau

Our homie at Aloha Fixed, Ryan Lau, shared these photos of his new ride. It's an Infamous trick track frame. Since he isn't running brakes on his trick bike and doesn't have to worry about pads lining up with the rims, he laced a set of track hubs to a pair of 26-inch Rhyno Lites so he could run fatter tires. He's got a set of 700c wheels on the back burner but for now he's enjoying the freedom of wide rubber and high sidewalls.

New Whip

Proud owner Rob Low

NYC homie Rob Low just sent in a pic of his new ride, a 24" Fit Bike Co. BMX bike. After removing all the stickers he posed for the camera. Happy camper, he is. We hope he doesn't hurt himself too bad in the quest for BMX street perfection.
